About this site
Who writes it
A Chinese person living in China, who keeps watching foreign friends hit the same walls: payment apps, tipping confusion, internet access, and social rules that no guidebook explains from the inside.
How AI is used here
Plainly: these guides are drafted with AI assistance, because the author's English is not publication-grade. Every fact, number, and cultural explanation is checked by the human author before publishing. The perspective — what actually happens at the cashier, what locals actually think — comes from lived experience, not from the model.
We disclose this because trust is the entire product. If you ever spot something that reads wrong, tell us: hello@canigotochina.com.
How facts are verified
Each guide lists its sources at the bottom, with the date they were checked. Policy and fee claims are verified against official sources (government notices, the apps' own help centers) before publication, and re-checked when policies change.
How this site makes money
No ads, no sponsored content, no paid placements. Some guides may include affiliate links (for example, to an eSIM provider). When they do, the link is marked, and the recommendation logic never changes because of it — we recommend what we'd tell a friend, then add a link if one exists.
